Day Three

Day three of healthy eating and life changing health habits and I’m feeling great.  Life is good!  I feel better than I have in a long time- and I leave myself wondering why I ever got out of the habit in the first place and why I gave up on making healthy choices-  After all- I owe it to my body and to me.

Planting

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 4:35 am

I’ve been a little out of pocket the past days, which has meant very little time for me to spend on the computer. In fact- aside from the ‘eye’- I haven’t used the computer much at all. Our days have been jam packed with various activites and it seems as though one day is running into another with the blink of an eye- At least we are getting some things accomplished!

Yesterday I cleaned out the fountain – scrubbed it with some bleach water and then added new water, submerged the pump and started it up. It worked like a charm and the bubbling sound always makes me smile and seems so peaceful. While it was running- I planted most of what will be my herb garden this year (with the exception of the two plants I thougt I bought, but obviously forgot). This year I’ve got- Sage, Basil, Oregeno, Dill, Rosemary, Lemon Balm and Celery leaves. I still need Mint and Chives, but I’ll get them when I go back tomorrow and pick up the rest of the flowers.

There is something about planting a garden and watching it grow that brings joy to my life. Just like last year- I chose all bright colored flowers- simply because brights are my ‘thing’. I’m sure you’ll get to see pictures in the very near future- as the fruits of my labor begin to blossom.

Checking-In

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 10:41 pm

Since I was lying here in bed unable to sleep I thought I would add a few thoughts to this space since I haven’t written in a few days.

I can’t say that I’ve been busy and that’s what has kept me away because I’d be lying. In fact, aside from picking up groceries and doing a little cooking, I haven’t done much of anything.

Jet lag has been really getting me in more ways than one. I am sleeping a little better but still not long enough and I am SO TIRED.

That was the source of a little frustration from Marcel yesterday as he is having issues with his old laptop and wants me to work on it. I suggested it would have to wait until I was more rested and he was less than thrilled. Patience is not his strong suit, but I think I’d cause more harm than good right now.

Our anniversary is coming up and I’ve already been thinking about where we will go. It’s going to be 7 years. Hard to believe. I guess time flies.

I’ll try to be a little more consistent with writing once I get past this jet lag.

Coming Soon

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 1:49 pm

I haven’t been able to access my blogs
since early this morning due to a DDoS attack that was on another site that is also hosted by the same hosting company that I use. They were on top of things pretty quickly and looks like the problem is resolved.

I have MUCH to blog about but I’m on the ‘eye’ so it will have to wait for tomorrow. Marcel has the next six days off, so I’m looking forward to spending some time with him.

Recharging

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 4:49 am

Yesterday was one if those days that you never want to see come to an end. I spent part on the beach and another part at the movies with a great mixture in between.

Even though today has been rainy, so far it has been a great day. I’m hoping the rest of the day is just as great.

I guess this is what you could call a battery recharger a la natural. I heart my friends!!

Gulf

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 10:52 am

I’ve been thinking about the crisis in the Gulf every day, and if being from the Coast wasn’t enough, I spend time every day watching Anderson Cooper 360 that I DVR each and every night. I will be the first to admit that I’m not a fan of CNN, but I absolutely love Anderson. I appreciated his coverage during Katrina, and I also appreciate his coverage now of this disaster and trying to keep people honest and hold them accountable for their actions. I hope that sometime – sooner, rather than later, that the massive amounts of oil will be stoopped from pouring into the Gulf and that it happens before it’s too late.

It’s heartbreaking to know that so many people make their living from those waters and the wild and marine life that has and is being affected. BP is all about the money and I do pray that they will be held accountable and those who have been made victims of this tragedy will somehow be compensated.

Ready for some BBQ

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 2:55 am

I’m thinking that since the weather couldn’t be more perfect, that maybe Marcel and I should pick up a few things for a BBQ tonight. It will only be the two of us, but I think it would be great to sit outside and enjoy a great meal and the sunshine.

It would also give us the opportunity to test the electric grill that we rescued when our neighbors moved. They were throwing it away. Marcel spent some time cleaning it yesterday and it’s ready for some food.

I need to ask his opinion, but I’m ready for some good BBQ to kick off the summer season that’s just around the corner.

Lunch

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 1:13 pm

This was my lunch today- tuna salad on whole wheat crackers with a few grape tomatoes. I made the sala healthy and combined with the crackers it was a delicious lunch.

I had fish for dinner and then after dinner- well that’s something I’m not going to talk about. I’ve got to get my emotions under control. I think i’m going to have to take some time to think about what I’m feeling as opposed to medicating myself with food. it is NOT about the food, and I know it.

Checking In

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 2:24 am

I haven’t had much of an opportunity to write the past few days because Marcel and I are enjoying our weekend together, but I did want to pop in and say hi.

It’s the last day of our weekend, so tomorrow we’ll head towards home, but stop along the way at the breeders to get JJ plucked. it was on the way and he really needs it, so we decided why not?

More from me once we get home.

Snoozin’ On The Train

If gypsies steal my “eye” and use it to write really wacky things on my blog, you’ll know that the toothpicks I have holding my eyelids open have failed and I’ve fallen asleep. YAWWWWNN!!!
