Can’t get Enough of Coupon Codes

Coupon codes- I love them. Seriously, they probably rank at the top of my list of favorite things. If I am planning a shopping trip- I first look for online coupons before I go. I print them out and take them with me. (Trust me when I say Google is your friend on this.)

When I shop online- if I don’t have coupon codes in my email, I Google the retailer and see if I can find something. Funny thing is- 9 out of 10 times I find something.

Case and point- EVERYTHING I ordered online this Christmas season had a coupon code of some sort. Earlier this week- went shopping in town and had coupons- additional 30% off everything- including sale items… PLUS had a 10.00 off the total coupon. I ended up spending 50.49 and my total savings- 91.00!!!! So I saved twice as much as I actually ended up spending. Yep Yep- that kind of stuff makes me HAPPY!

So before you buy- do your research and it could save you plenty of moolah this holiday season and EVERY day!

Making a List

Filed under: Holidays,Seasons,Shop til ya Drop — gardener @ 5:00 pm

Most of you who know me- know that as much as I wish he didn’t, my darling husband smokes. I’m allergic to smoke of any type- so he doesn’t do it around me, but he does do it. It’s a habit that he is hoping to kick sometime in the near future, or so he says- but I still caught him looking at xikar lighters online the other day. I thought he was searching for Christmas gifts- but maybe he has that in mind for himself. I’m not sure since he didn’t mention it, but he did make sure I saw it- so I guess it’s possible.

I guess we’ll have to see what Santa leaves under the tree.

Making a List

In addition to packing and prepping our home for our upcoming vacation- I’ve been spending some time perusing the Internet looking for Christmas gift ideas- and making a list (I haven’t checked it twice, yet!) of what I want to buy for whom. I’ve also come across some great cushion deals, which have been a source of inspiration for some decorating ideas I’ve got brewing.

I’m excited-and it hit me today just how excited I am. Lots to get done in the time between now and our travels, but I’m looking forward to every moment.

Too Early for Black Friday?

Filed under: Holidays,Shop til ya Drop — gardener @ 11:54 am

I’ll admit it- I’ve been reading the Black Friday ads for a few days now. I’ll also admit that I haven’t found anything that I don’t think I can live without- but I’m still holding out hope and looking forward to some fun shopping with family. I did see where Target is going to open at 9 on Thanksgiving night and I’m seriously thinking a trip may be in order- but we’ll see how it all plays out. I know our plan is to be up bright and early Friday morning and make a day of it. Fun day in the making for sure.. I’m just crossing my fingers and toes for some ‘can’t live without’ deals- and lots of sunshine!

Christmas Shopping

Marcel made a mention a while back that maybe it was time that we both started thinking about new computers. Of course- little does he know, but I’ve already been looking at ultrabook devices for him- and have a couple that I’m considering. Since we both use our computers for entirely different things- (Me for work- and him more for play), I figured his would make a good Christmas gift- and I could always get something for myself in the new year.

I know that Christmas is still a little while away, but I’m hoping to have a list of all the gifts I need to buy by the time we arrive home for the holidays- and that way all I need to do is buy. It sure makes life easier.

Counting Down

Filed under: Holidays,Home,Shop til ya Drop — gardener @ 6:51 am

This morning I had a moment when I realized that we would be home for the holidays in less than a month. I can’t wait to see my family and friends back home that I haven’t seen in a while- plus taking a lot of joy in knowing that I’ll be spending Christmas with them. It also means that I’m really late with getting my Christmas shopping done- but I plan to look for a wide selection of perfume oils and other gift items when I get home- and hopefully get everything taken care of online- without having to fight too many crowds.

I’ll be shopping coupon codes and finding the best buys possible- and I know that if all goes well, I’ll have everything done in plenty of time for a lot of relaxation and fun leading up to Christmas.

Winding Down

It has been a busy week and we are tapping on the heels of a busy weekend with Marcel’s birthday celebration this weekend.

Once it has passed, I plan to actually unplug for a few days, with the exception of Pinterest and a few other little things.

Is everyone a member? If you aren’t you are missing out. I find the best ideas there for baking and cooking, but also things like making classroom furniture look more hip and trendy, plus making the most amazing things out of what others would consider trash.

I’m getting some ideas for Christmas projects started. I can’t wait!!

Running with Knives

Filed under: Food,Shop til ya Drop — gardener @ 10:00 am

In the midst of my kitchen adventures recently- and most accurately when attempting to cut my baklava before putting it in the oven- I realized that my knives are all in need of blade sharpening. I have attempted it myself- with some success, but for some reason they never seem to stay sharp for long. Do you have a particular method that you use and how does the sharpness factor hold?

Let’s Party

Filed under: Holidays,Home,Shop til ya Drop — gardener @ 9:12 am

I’m finally feeling somewhat better than I have been in quite some time. I’m still not 100% but I know that I’m well on my way and that makes me happy. I was talking with a good friend yesterday about all the great plans happening this summer and I’m excited about them all.

Not only am I hosting several parties, but I’m also going to be attending quite a few, along with several other fun outtings with great, great people. I don’t know about you, but there is something energizing about being around people who are positive and fun- it fills my soul with joy!

Today, we finished doing all the flower planting- got the fountain running and I’m sitting outside right this moment and thinking about Globe String Lights Outdoor and how great they would be for evening entertaining. One thing I would love to find is a huge old tin tub or maybe even a huge flower pot to fill with ice and put beverages in to keep them cold. Yes indeed- I’m ready to get these festivities started.. and the planning has already started.

The Good Life

I love it when people that I love contact me to share great things that are happening in their lives and upcoming special events that they have asked me to be a part of. It makes my heart sing to see people happy and living a great life.

I also love it when they ask my opinion on great gifts like the Australian Opal Beads that someone I love is giving to someone they’ve fallen in love with.

We all have our little times when we hit a speed bump but on the whole, life is great and we just need to embrace every great moment.
