Little While Longer

Filed under: Shop til ya Drop,Techy — gardener @ 6:53 am

Every single place we’ve stayed while traveling has had plasma tvs, which has in turn got Marcel to thinking that we need one for our living room. We have one for the guest room- but he figures it would take up a lot less space if we invested in one for the living room. I know he’s right- but the one we have, albeit not a plasma- is still good. So unless “Santa” brings him one, or our television goes out- he’s going to have to wait a little while longer.

Christmas in September

Filed under: Shop til ya Drop,Things I Love — gardener @ 10:37 am

In spite of the bad weather- I’ve been keeping mom and diddy busy with venturing from place to place. We have so much planned and the weather has slowed us down a little, but not too much.

Seeing them again was like Christmas in September- because they brought me a lot of goodies that I consider amongst my favorite things, in addition to a few things that mom and dad wanted to share with me, such as the dermorganic that mom has started using on a regular basis. I haven’t started using it yet- but I’m looking forward to seeing how it makes a difference with my hair, which has become pretty unmanagable in the last year or so.

Home Improvements

Filed under: Home,Shop til ya Drop — gardener @ 5:26 am

In the midst of everything that has been happening in our household- I’ve been thinking about new applicances that I’ll need to make things here much easier when the business gets up and running. I have been thinking about a new oven- a larger one, of course, not to mention some extra counter space. One thing I’ve learned is that before buying anything online to check for coupons first. So I know that if I want to order paint, I need to look for Lowe’s coupons before I do. After all- there’s no way I want to pay more if I don’t have to.

Options

Filed under: Life,Shop til ya Drop — gardener @ 9:40 am

This afternoon when I checked the mail, I groaned when I saw a familiar envelope that meant my credit card bill had arrived. Sure enough- when I opened it- it was somewhat very close to what I thought it would be. I also have it set up to automatically take the entire amount out of my checking account at the beginning of the month- so needless to say it’s going to hurt when it’s withdrawn. The good thing is- that if worse comes to worse and I do need some extra cash- I can always get a payday advance loan to tide us over until the following pay check. I’m pretty sure that we’ll be fine- but just in case- it’s nice knowing that option is there.

Putting on My Tour Guide Hat

I’m putting on my tour guide hat in the very near future and this time it is going to be in the ever-so-lovely Great Britian, specifically London. It’s somewhere I haven’t been in my 44 years of life- but I’m looking forward to exploring it with mom, diddy and Marcel.

I am the official planner and coordinator, so I’m looking forward to seeing what I can come up with in terms of accomodations and finding us a show to see. Granted, it’s a no-brainer that I’d love to see Wicked, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out and what we’ll end up seeing if anything.

It looks like I’m going to have to dig in my heels and start searching to see what I can come up with. It’s going to be a great trip and I can’t wait.

One Step at a Time

Filed under: Home,Life,Shop til ya Drop — gardener @ 10:07 am

There is so much going on in our household at the moment that lately I’m having to remind myself to keep breathing- It’s just busy busy with lots of fun activities and adventures in the making, but we’re also in the process of wanting to make some changes in our household. We have laminate floors throughout the bedrooms and when we bought it I liked the color but now I don’t. I’ve been looking at the BestLaminate.net laminate floor in hopes of finding something new- plus I’ve also been looking at new colors to paint our living room. There is a list of what we’d like to do since we made the decision to stay here and it looks like we’ll get them done one at a time, although I do find myself wishing I could wave a magic wand and have it all done at once.

Making Lists-

I know that it’s July- so this is going to sound somewhat crazy to some of you- but I’m already starting to think about Christmas. Since this year we won’t be home- my buying will be scaled down compared to the years we are at home, but I’ve got my eye on several ideas for my brother- one of which is a garman golf gps. He is a HUGE golf fan and plays as often as he can so I know this is something that he would absolutely love. The great thing is- I can order and have it shipped to mom and dad’s and he can open it there Christmas morning. I’ve got it added to my iPhone Christmas list application and in the next few months will start my ‘official’ shopping.

In case you haven’t guessed- I LOVE Christmas!

Birthdays

Filed under: Shop til ya Drop,Techy — gardener @ 5:21 am

A friend of Marcel’s is going to be celebrating his 50th birthday in a couple of months and the guy is a huge fan of cigars. Thankfully he doesn’t smoke them inside his home, because I’m allergic to smoke in general and I find cigars to be a little stinky, but that’s just me. Marcel has been doing a little thinking about what he’d like to get him- and he told me he wanted to know if I could find where to get buy arturo fuente cigars because he thinks that would make the perfect gift for his friend and I have to agree. Since he isn’t one to do a lot (or any) online shopping, I’m sure I’ll be the one to make the purchasing. Since I know nothing about buying cigars I need to make sure that I can order them in advance so that I don’t have to worry about them going stale. Do cigars even go stale? Looks like I have a little research to do.

This Little Piggy- (101 in 1001 Days)

  Oink-Oink-

One of the things on my 101 Things in 1001 Days List  was to Save 100 in 2 Euro coins.  I wasn’t sure how long it would take me to complete this task, but I figured since I saw it on someone elses list and since I do have access to 2 Euro coins- why not?

The piggy to your left is the pig I’ve been saving them in and a few days ago I decided to pull the plug on the bottom and see just how much I had saved.  Imagine my surprise when it was over 100.     Marcel wanted to know what I was going to do with it- and I told him that I was going to save it.

I’ve since moved the 100 to another container and left the excess in the little plastic pig.    Since another item on my list is to save 1 dollar a day for the 1001 days- this gives me a good start.    Once I have another 100-  I’ll move it to the other container and so forth until the 1001 days are completed.

Originally I had an idea that I’d use the money to buy something extravagant for myself- but I’ve since realized something else that I can much better plan to use the money for.    I can’t really talk about that right now- but I’ll get back to y’all on that when the time comes.   After all- it can’t happen until I’ve checked it off my list.

There are other things that I need to check off of my list- so expect to see more updates in the near future.

Summer

I love summer.   In fact, I guess you could say that I love ALL seasons for all that they bring to the table, but more and more I’m finding that summer is ranking amongst my favorite times of the year.

You may wonder why-   As those Spring days are leaning towards Summer, I’ve found that the baby ducklings are coming into their own, and it won’t be long before they leave the nest and go about their own lives.   It’s the process of nature- and something about watching them grow from a duckling into a full-grown duck makes me smile.

Picnics-  I haven’t been on one in ages- unless you count us eating dinner outside on days like today- but when I see dinner ware like the one to your left-  how can you NOT want to go on a picnic?   In fact-  I’d rather eat on them all summer long- they are just THAT cute-     If only there was a Pier One just around the corner- I’d be highly tempted.     Then again- there’s always online shopping.    They would be really cute for my end of July tapas get together with some of my favorite people.

Fruit- Is there anything not to like about summer fruits?  BBQ’s and well- the list goes on-   Time at the beach, longer daylight hours and of course-  my birthday. (Didn’t think I’d leave that out did you?)

So tell me- What are your favorite things about summer?
