Question of the Day (Travel)

Filed under: Question of the Day,Travel,World — gardener @ 1:49 am

If you could travel to anywhere in the world with money being no object, where would you go and why?

I would really have to think about this, but aside from the obvious visiting my family, I would probably choose a round the world trip so that I could visit many countries and cultures along the way. I love learning about and experiencing new cultures and think that would be the ultimate vacation. Who knows, maybe one of these days I’ll actually take it. A trip around the world. How fun would that be?

Fun Everywhere You Look

Since I’ve been thinking a whole lot about travel the past few weeks, I’ve been looking at different vacation destinations, including the East Coast. I have always been a fan of amusement parks, and place I’ve never been is on NJ Amusement Rides, so I was thinking it would be fun to combine a trip to Morey’s Piers and NYC. The great thing about this time of the year is that I was able to find out that Morey’s is having a Spring Sale that can save up to 35%, plus they have a new ride coming this summer, which looks exciting.

After browsing the site, I have to say that I love the fact that it combines two of my favorite things, both water and amusement park rides all in one place. That means you get more fun for your buck, and it leaves me ready to pack my bags and head East. Who wants to join me? It looks like there is something for everyone, including Marcel who isn’t thrilled about roller coasters but loves the calmer rides.

How Do I Spell Relief? V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N

There is so much going on right now that the one thing I think I need more than anything is a vacation. I had a great day yesterday with a baby shower for a friend of mine, given by another friend, but came home to find out that someone I love back home is in a drug induced coma due to having seizures. My first instinct was to fly back home for a while, but right now I’m just waiting to see what happens.

I need a break- from the stresses of everything, so that I can center myself and come back with a vengance. I think that a vacation fully away from everyone and everything may be the only way to do that.

Forget Calgon- I need a plane and a warm, sunny destination.

Chasing Spring

I’m still thinking about travel today, and even thought about planning a weekend getaway for the weekend coming up, except Marcel has to work. I wish he could take the time off because I could really use a get-away but right now I just don’t see it in the cards. Who knows, maybe I’ll get some friends together and just get away for the day. Even that would be better than nothing.

Maybe I’m just chasing spring time, I don’t know- I just know I’m ready for some sunshine and some fun that isn’t spent indoors. I was actually looking at trips to Iceland the other day and Marcel said that was the last place he wanted to go, because we’d be going from cold to colder, but I don’t think it would be as bad as the name sounds.

Wander Lust

I’m sitting here watching JJ attempt to bury his bone inside his crate and I can’t help but laugh. He’s so funny and animated and I honestly think he has the potential to be the best dog that I have ever owned, running a close second to our old family dog, Cocoa- who was brilliant.

Marcel and I have been talking recently about doing some traveling. Since this is the year for our ‘big’ vacation later in the year, we don’t want to make it anything major, but we do want to get away for a weekend, or even a week to relax and not have to think about the responsibilities of everyday life. We’ve been going back and forth as to whether we’ll take JJ with us, or if we’ll let his mom babysit. I guess it will depend on the type of weekend get away we take. Part of me thinks it would be fun to take him somewhere new to experience, and then part of me just wants the quiet time without having to worry about ANY responsibilities, including that of taking a dog out. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out, and where we end up going.

It doesn’t really matter to me where it is, as long as it’s somewhere.

Talkin’ About Traveling

Filed under: Travel — gardener @ 1:34 am

A few days ago Marcel and I were talking about vacations. He brought up the subject, and he started asking me if I’d been to various places such as Los Angeles and the Outer Banks. I was able to say that I’d been to LA, but I couldn’t remember ever going to the Outer Banks, unless I just passed through on the way to somewhere else. I rememeber hearing alot about Outer Banks vacations when I lived in Virginia, and since then I’ve heard numerous other people talk about how beautiful it is there. He said that maybe we should go sometime. Maybe he’s right. There are so many places I want to see, I’m sure my list will never be completed.

Where is your favorite U.S. travel destination? I loved San Luis Obispo, CA and traveling up Hwy 1, plus I love Williamsburg, VA and Roanoke, VA area and the mountains. Again, there are so many places that I haven’t seen.

Hitting it Big

Filed under: Travel — gardener @ 5:11 pm

My sister in law told me a few days ago that she’s always wanted to visit Las Vegas. She has huge dreams of hitting the jackpot, but I told her that I would imagine that anyone who ever visits the casinos and plays hopes to hit the jackpot.

Personally, gambling is not my thing, I’d rather take my money and have fun with something like the shows. In fact, I could go to las vegas hotels and never even think about going to the casino, but instead spend my time by the pool and going from one show to the next.

What about you?

He Loves Everyone

We just got back from attempting to take a walk with JJ, but everywhere we walked, there were people wanting to walk with us and their dogs were much, much larger than JJ. I don’t mind them walking with us, but it was raining and cold and JJ will not do his business when something as fun as other dogs are around. He sees them as his own personal play toy.

Finally we decided to take him somewhere else to attempt to let him do his business and one of the people followed us there. Poor JJ was shivering and I finally said forget it and we brought him in. We were all cold. I dried him off, and am now sitting here with a cup of coffee trying to warm up and decide what we’re going to do today. As cold as I feel right now cancun package deals is something I could definitely enjoy right now. Even though it is cold here, I have to say the leaves are beautiful. Because of the rain, the colors are more vibrant. I’ll have to take a few pictures and share later.

Rested- Ahhh

What a difference a day makes. I finally had some decent sleep last night and Marcel was sweet enough to play with JJ and keep him entertained this morning while I actually went to the bed and snoozed for a few extra hours. It was heavenly. I needed the time in the bed, since sleeping on the sofa has not been fun the past few days.

We’ve been taking little JJ with us everywhere. My friend Samantha said we should bring him on our trip home next year, but I know that mom and I have talked about taking orlando vacations with the entire family, so I’m not sure about that yet. I’ll probably do like we always do and leave him with my sister in law- although he’s small enough that he can actually stay with my mom in law. We’ll see what happens.
