Content- That’s one word that pretty much describes how I’m feeling right now. When I look around- I see a LOT of things that I am still trying to catch up on from when I was sick, yet I’m happy with how things are going with my life. I am blessed and I know it. I know that I may take some things for granted- as we all have that tendency to do so, but what I know for sure is that I am grateful for each and every blessing.

There are people- who have come into my life recently, who have made such a positive difference. It’s sometimes difficult letting go of what no longer works- but when you do- it opens the door to allow so many other wonderful possibilities and for that I’m grateful.

Counting My Blessings

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 11:46 am

It has been a busy few days and tomorow promises to be an even busier one, which means I am going to head to bed early tonight and be up earlier tomorrow.   I’ve been thinking a lot lately-  (being sick gives you a lot of time for that) and as I mentioned in a previous post- I’m really feeling blessed.   It doesn’t mean I don’t have my days-  (today was one of ‘those’ days where everything seems to go wrong), but even now as I sit here and reflect, there is so much more that went well.

So as I wind down this day and think about all the things that remain on my weekend ‘to do’ list- I’m counting my blessings for all the things I was able to cross off that list.   I’m focusing on what I’ve done- and not what’s left to do.

My Gratitude List for April 27, 2012.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  1. The power of changing my vision-  Just because things don’t turn out the way I had envisioned doesn’t mean that they won’t turn out.  Sometimes we just have to stop- regroup and a new vision appears which is much better than the first.
  2. I can’t say it enough how grateful I am for the power of real friendship.   Those who encourage, inspire and are there for you- through thick and thin.   My sister friends-  Whatever would I do without you?
  3. My sofa- because right now there is no place I’d rather be.
  4. Beautiful blue skies, fluffy white clouds and new growth on the trees.
  5. Love-   Without it- where would we be?

The Good Life-

I’ve been thinking quite a bit lately about in spite of the occasional uphill battle and hiccup that we all tend to have from time to time that life really is good.   There have been people who have said to me that I’ve got the perfect life- and while that is far from the truth, I know that I am blessed and don’t take it for granted.

I’ve also noticed that as I’ve started really being true to myself and in doing what works for me that life has become even sweeter.    I’ve started avoiding those who prefer to focus on the negative or tend to err on the side of drama.   I’m definitely not judging them for their choices in life-  I know it happens and some people prefer the chaos, but I figure life is chaotic enough from time to time on it’s own, I don’t need to have any extra additions that can be avoided, so I do.   We all have to do what works for us and that’s the great thing about life- we have the freedom to choose what works for us and what doesn’t and make concessions accordingly.

My Gratitude List for March 31, 2012.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • Each and every blessing in my life.  From the roof over my head to good health.
  • The beautiful people in my life who are true friends.
  • The ability to finally ‘get’ what letting go of what doesn’t work is all about.
  • Spring weather and new life.
  • An afternoon of being ‘home alone’ and spending time with me.
  • My business and all that I’m learning along this amazing journey- one of which is patience.

Gratitude-

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 11:45 am

We’ve been having some extremely cold temps, but along with it has come some blue skies and sunshine. Up until this week, our winter has been so mild that I can’t complain- but sadly many of the days have included either grey skies, rain or a little of both.

Last night I was out walking with JJ- and even though it was cold and windy- the crispness felt so good. I came inside with really cold hands and fingers, but I felt grateful that I could feel it and that I was healthy enough to get out and enjoy those moments with my little pup.

Gratitude List for February 1, 2012

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • An afternoon with a dear friend-  which included some great conversation and a delicious lunch.
  • Beautiful blue skies and cold weather- and possibly snow on the way.
  • Gorgeous roses from Marcel-that he gave me for our anniversary- which is tomorrow.
  • Honesty and people who prefer to ask questions instead of making assumptions.
  • Life-  and having the freedom to live it just as I choose.

Little Things-

I’m one of those people who really delight in the little things. I know the ‘little things’ vary by person, but I’ll give you an example. We needed dog and cat food, but I’ve been putting off ordering it because it’s expensive. Granted, it lasts for six months or maybe even longer, but it’s still a chunk of change at once- especially when we need both.

So- I was online getting ready to place the order and I had been looking around for coupon codes (Something I always do before checking out anywhere online) and I couldn’t find anything. I decided to go through my email and see if there were any there- and the ones that I found were expired. Then I saw one from two years ago that was for bulk orders, and since what I was doing was technically a bulk order- I decided to try the code- after all what’s 20 seconds of my time? It worked!! AND it saved us about 12.00!! Needless to say- I was a very happy girl.

See what I mean about the little things? What little things have made you happy lately?

Gratitude-

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 12:50 pm

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the things in life that I’m grateful for. I know that’s nothing new if you know me- or have read this blog before, but for some reason I’ve really been thinking about it a lot. I’ve also been thinking about the things that don’t work in my life any longer- and working on letting them go as easily as possible. Some things are easier than others- but in the end, we shouldn’t hold on to what doesn’t work for us.

I have a lot to babble about- but it’s going to have to wait until tomorrow. I had some technology issues that had to be sorted and it took longer than I thought. But before I go, I’d like to take a moment and share a few things I’m grateful for today.

My Gratitude List for January 19, 2012.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • The joy and happiness that I feel when I see JJ do crazy little things- like jump in the water unexpectedly after a stick or dance a little jig after he gets out of the bathtub and I’m drying him with the blow dryer.
  • The gorgeous orange roses that Marcel brought home to me today.  I was wondering why he was late- and I found out. What a great surprise.
  • The wonderful dinner that I cooked for us tonight-  It was pure comfort food but it was so delicious.
  • Having the strength to do 30 minutes on the elliptical and then going back and doing another 10.    I was beat, but it was such a great feeling.
  • Seeing the sun peek from behind the clouds and bathe me in its warmth after a dark and rainy day.

New Year- New Possibilities

Day one of 2012. Wow! A clean slate and a year filled with potential and endless possibilities. I’m excited about it. I’m excited about the realizations I had towards the end of last year and how it is going to help me increase my potential and better understanding of myself in this one.

January 1, 2012.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • My Family-   They are always there for me through everything- and I’m so grateful.   What would I do without them?
  • My Friends-  Some of them I count amongst my family and again- I’m so grateful and blessed to have such a precious group of friends.
  • PJ days-   Today is one of those lounge around the house and just catch up on little things days- and I love it.
  • Learning to let go-   I’ve had a problem with letting go of things lately and I’m learning to let go of the things that I really shouldn’t be holding on to.   It has been a little painful, but it’s a good thing.
  • Possibilities-  potential and a new day and year to do my best!

Gratitude- December 23, 2011

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 12:20 pm

Another year- almost gone. I’m still trying to figure out just where it got off to- but none the less- the new year is coming- like it or not. I do like it though- and have high hopes for 2012 and the goal setting has begun. I’ll be sharing more of that in the week to come.

But for now- I’d like to share a little gratitude.

My Gratitude List-  December 23, 2011.

Today I’m Grateful for:

  • Coupons from Zinno, which allowed me to get a subscription to Reader’s Digest for .99 cents for my iPad.  Yeah!  Grew up with that magazine and I just love it.
  • Great food finds-  Maldon sea salt flakes,  quinoa spaghetti and red quinoa to name a few things.   A bright spot to a very dreary day.
  • Christmas tree lights that are beautiful and festive.
  • Two movies from a friend that came in the mail today- one is a Christmas film that I plan to watch on Christmas night- when I’m ‘home alone’ due to Marcel working.
  • Starbucks Christmas blend.

Goal Setting

I’ve been thinking about the things I’d like to accomplish in 2012 and I’m already working on setting some goals to allow me better time management and also to get me back in the right mindset for not only getting things done but for being more positive. I consider myself a pretty positive person, but I’ve allowed a few negativities to take root and manifest in my life and I’m working on ‘weeding the garden’ so-to-speak.

One thing that I’m definitely going to be doing is spending more time focusing on the little things I’m grateful for. I used to share them here often- and I’m going to get back to doing that list.

Another thing- is taking more time to nuture and take good care of my body. I’ve only got one- and I haven’t been doing all that I can to take care of it and I know I should. I owe it to myself.

More on the horizon- but this is a good thing to refer back to as I start preparing and writing things down. 2012 is going to be a good year- I’m certain of it.

Ashamed

When I logged in today I was ashamed to see that it has been so long (almost a month!) since I was here last. I could give you a gazillion reasons as to why I haven’t, but the truth is on top of everything else I’ve been doing, I just haven’t made the time for it.

I know- I know- sad but true. I have a lot I want to talk about and share in this space- and am considering where I want this space to go in terms of blogging at the beginning of the year- but I will share that with you as time goes on.

Now that I’m feeling as though I’m starting to catch up after our extended holiday, I’m hoping to post much more frequently.

Thanksgiving is here- (where has the year gone?) and I’m thankful for the wonderful people in my life.
