Nothin’ But Blue Skies

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 3:11 am

Today is a day that I will spend mostly in the company of friends. This morning I was up early and out the door for Bible Study that I share with an amazing group of ladies.

I travel to and from via the train, and I noticed this older gentleman sitting on the bench with his phone, enjoying the gorgeous weather.

The skies are a beautiful blue and the clouds are few. It is truely a gorgeous day.

I’ll arrive home shortly, in time for my friend Carol to visit with her adorable pup Piper. Hopefully JJ and Mister M. will enjoy meeting a new friend. I know JJ will enjoy the walk and showing off his new tricks.

Waiting

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 3:22 am

This time if the year is one that I always look forward to because it’s when the tulips begin to bloom. I usually go out and look for tulip fields, stand in front of them, admire their beauty and even photograph them.

Marcel and I went out on Saturday in search of the tulips, but I found that they weren’t quite ready. I think we’ll try again this weekend. I’m ready to tiptoe through the tulips, but for now I wait.

( On Location) In the Sunshine

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 2:58 am

It looks like the grey skies have finally cleared and the forcast is showing nothing but sunny skies for the next week. After the dark, grey winter that we had, I can’t tell you how welcome the beautiful weather is.

I find myself wanting to do two things- spend all of my time outside in the sunshine and take a trip to destinations unknown.

The first, I’ll do today by taking my laptop outside and working there. I have to say, on days like today the laptop was my best investment ever!!

The second- the traveling part is still in the planning stages, but I definately see a weekend getaway coming up soon.

if you can, get out and enjoy the sunshine. it’s good for the soul, plus the Vitamin D does a body good.

Busy Busy Day

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 11:07 am

It has been one of those insanely busy days when you hit the ground running and you really don’t realize how busy you’ve been until you actually take a moment to sit down and breathe. When I got finished with everything today, I sat down on the sofa and realized that I’d been so busy that my entire body was aching and I hadn’t even recognized it. Now, I’m collapsed on the sofa and not sure that I’ll get up. I’m sure I will, but I definitely won’t want to.

In spite of it being insanely busy, it’s also been a great day. I was able to spend part of the day taking photos of one of my beautiful friends, and in the morning I’ll upload them to the desktop and have a look. I pray that at least some of them turned out well, and I can’t wait to see how they look.

Marcel is still not feeling well, and struggling with these shingles. As soon as I walked in the door he went to bed. He got up in time for dinner and now he’s snoozing on the sofa. I do pray he starts feeling better soon. He’s been sick all day, and he’s convinced that it’s the new medication that the doctor gave him, so needless to say, he won’t be taking that anymore.

I made 36 cupcakes this afternoon, and tomorrow I’ll ice them all and then go around the neighborhood giving them to people. I hope they’ll taste ok. I tried a new yellow cake recipe, and I’m not thrilled about it. I won’t be using it again even though Marcel said it was really good.

I have a feeling it’s going to be an early night for me tonight.

Good Friday Gratitude

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 1:09 am

I’m on the train so my WP skills are limited on the “eye” but I wanted to share a few things I’m grateful for on this good Friday.

– Sunny skies after a week filled with weird weather.

– Jesus, who paid the ultimate price for ALL of us.

– Family and friends.

– A good cup of cappuccino.

– Relaxing at the end of a long, tiring day.

Five Foods That Should Never Be in Your Shopping Cart

Most people who know me know that I’m a huge fan of Doctor Oz. I know that he’s been given the moniker America’s Doctor, and I love that he is committed and dedicated to teaching us all how to live healthier, longer lives.

I’m one of those odd people who love to go to the grocery store. I do. Maybe it’s because I love to shop, or maybe it’s because I like to cook. Possibly it may even be because I enjoy seeing what new products and things are on the market. I go down every single aisle each week, and feel as though I’ve missed something if I don’t.

I read this article about 5 things that should never find their way into our shopping cart and even though it was information that I already knew, I wanted to share it with others who may not know. You never know what a difference it could make in your life.

If you’d like to read the article, click the picture, which will take you to the website. It could save your life.

Flowers of the Season

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 7:03 am

I figured while I was waiting for Marcel to get in to see the doctor that I would share a picture that I took this past weekend while at the Black Market with Marcel, Danielle and Justin.

Tulips happen to be one of my favorite flowers and I always smile when I see them.

Seeing them also means that spring isn’t far behind.

First of The Season

Last weekend when I was out and about with Marcel, I saw these, some of the first tulips of the season. Aren’t they beautiful?

Who wants to tiptoe through the tulips with me???

Lounging in Bed

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 1:06 am

It’s around 9 a.m. and I’m lounging in bed. I’m going to get up in a few, but it’s so nice not to have to get up this morning and rush out the door with JJ.

Thank goodness to Marcel for that. First up on my agenda- a bath while my steel cut oats cook and lots of coffee.

Here we go!

Randomness

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 3:22 pm

I want a new look for this place. I wonder if I could find some time in between everything else to actually create a layout that I’d love?

Probably not, but it is a thought. hehe

Since I’m being random with my thoughts, I’ll let yáll know that I made a huge pot of chicken soup tonight for dinner, and I think it’s the best I’ve ever made. Not to mention the whole grain french bread that we had with it only complimented the soup.

Because I made so much- left overs are on the agenda for tomorrow.
