A few years ago, a friend of my cousins gave him a celebratory cigar when his son was born. My cousin- who had never tried a cigar decided to join in with the guys and ‘light up’. He loved it and so the love affair between him and a good cigar was born. He researches the best cigar prices, and every month orders a couple to celebrate. Even if he has nothing to celebrate in particular- he celebrates living. Shouldn’t we all find the little things in life to celebrate each day?

Snowing on Good Friday
It’s snowing- March 29th and it’s snowing. Wait- I take that back, the snowing has almost ceased and now the sun is shining. I wonder when I see weather like this- where normally it’s cool out- but not cold- if ole’ Al Gore rethinks his idea on the whole Global Warming thing- or if, like so man other things- he has an explanation for it?
What’s the weather like in your corner of the world?

Go To Girl
I love that I am my parents ‘go to’ girl for when they need help with anything related to the computer. If they are having issues- can’t quite figure out how to do something, or even need to find a particular product- I’m their girl. When they were looking for some screen for the back porch and wanting the best price possible- they called me, when diddy needed to find hydraulic swing clamps for his neighbor, who doesn’t own a computer- he called me. I’m happy to be able to be there for them, even though we are far apart distance wise.
It’s the beauty of technology and I figure after all they’ve done for me in my lifetime, it’s the very least I could do for them.

Hello Sunshine
For a few days this week the clouds parted and the sun made an appearance and it was pure bliss. One wouldn’t think something like sunshine could cause such a moment of happiness and bliss in life- but hey- it’s the little things in life, right?
I sat outside for about an hour one afternoon drinking coffee and just enjoying the rays after I’d finished working and it was so great. I even thought that it may be time to consider those prada sunglasses at eyesave.com. Ok even though the sun appearance was a short lived thing- I’m still consdering the sunglasses. AFter all- to know me is to know how much I love sunglasses- in any weather. And the sun- I’m sure it will be back sooner rather than later.

In the Meantime..
A lot has happened in the last week- and I’ve learned quite a few very valuable lessons. I know that sounds cryptic- and I don’t mean it to, but I’m unable to do a lot of ‘talking- typing’ or any of the like at the moment. Blog writing for me today is actually an exercise in seeing how I feel just by doing what many would deem as a simple task. So far so good, but it’s a slow-going process.
In the meantime- I’m grateful for the sunshine and the green sprouts I’ve seen on some of my perennials- which is a sure sign (in spite of the forecast of weekend snow) that Spring is just around the corner.

One Step at a Time
We’ve been home from our trip for exactly two weeks today and I’m finally (I think) getting back in the groove of things. Well- mostly I think I’m starting to get enough rest- and feel like I’m alive again even though my energy levels are still far from what they should be.
Business is picking up again- and this weekend I’ll be making a delivery which is no where near my general business area- but the person said he would spare no expenses to make sure his girlfriend knows how special she is to him. Talk about romance at its finest- and I’m looking forward to meeting him.
I’m hoping by weeks end I’ll be back in somewhat of a regular routine- and able to function again on a more normal (whatever normal is) basis. Time will tell on that one. My plan is to get back on track with a regular exercise routine next week- I’ve been working on taking care of making sure I get enough rest- and working on getting back on a healthy eating track, but now it’s time for some exercise. My body needs it and will thank me.

Goals
I was paying bills a little while ago and I can’t believe that the first month of 2013 is almost over. Time is flying! Even when we were traveling I couldn’t help but make some new goals for the year in regards to my business. I’ve been focusing on reading more about successful business people such as marty hanaka, Oprah, Jillian Michaels and the list goes on- so that I can maybe apply some of their practices to my own life.
This is my year to live beyond the fear and I plan on doing just that- and I’ve got realistic goals that I’m working towards that will definitely have me out of my comfort zone and living beyond fear. I know that beyond the fear- anything is possible. I’ll definitely be expounding on that later.

Home in Two Places
I spent the day in the company of friends and family yesterday- as I have much every day the past couple of weeks. It makes me smile- and warms my heart beyond words at how much love I feel from the people in my life. I know that when I leave here I’m leaving one home- but I’m going back to another, where I’ll be greeted with open arms and again, much love and acceptance.
Is it hard to leave? Yes and no. Bittersweet is the best way I can describe it. I’ve so missed our home, our family and friends at home and of course, the fabulous JJ and Mister M. I can’t wait to get settled back in to work and life at home, but I’m going to miss this one.

New Year
Wow- It’s hard to believe that it’s been two weeks since I last wrote in this space or in any blogging capacity- but things have been ‘hopping’ around here. Right after Christmas we went to the mountains as a complete family and had a fantastic time. We stayed in a chalet there and it was fun to have us all together on a vacation since my brother and I were teens. (That’s a LONG time ago!)
Once we got back- it was time to ring in the new year- which we did right here at mom and diddy’s surrounded by friends, and with an adventure of hiking in the swamp on New Year’s Day. Yes, that ended up being more than an adventure, since I fell in the mud. It was hilarious though and made for a good laugh, but my first lesson of the year was never go hiking the swamps in Mary Jane shoes.
This year is shaping up to be a good one. I’m so grateful for the doors that have opened up to me over the last year and look forward to seeing good things happening this year. I’ve been blessed with so many ‘real’ and wonderful friends and I look forward to those friendships growing even more this year.
I feel grateful for the lessons learned last year- even the ones that came through painful experiences. I am a firm believer that all things happen for a reason, and even though some things I didn’t necessarily understand at the time- later on, I realized that only by letting go and accepting that I don’t have to understand- that it opened the doors for many other blessings that I may have missed had I been looking and focusing on what was.
I don’t take anything for granted because I do know that nothing at all is promised. The only thing I know for sure is that I have this moment, and I’m loving each and every one I’m given.

Can’t get Enough of Coupon Codes
Coupon codes- I love them. Seriously, they probably rank at the top of my list of favorite things. If I am planning a shopping trip- I first look for online coupons before I go. I print them out and take them with me. (Trust me when I say Google is your friend on this.)
When I shop online- if I don’t have coupon codes in my email, I Google the retailer and see if I can find something. Funny thing is- 9 out of 10 times I find something.
Case and point- EVERYTHING I ordered online this Christmas season had a coupon code of some sort. Earlier this week- went shopping in town and had coupons- additional 30% off everything- including sale items… PLUS had a 10.00 off the total coupon. I ended up spending 50.49 and my total savings- 91.00!!!! So I saved twice as much as I actually ended up spending. Yep Yep- that kind of stuff makes me HAPPY!
So before you buy- do your research and it could save you plenty of moolah this holiday season and EVERY day!
