Moments

It’s a rainy Sunday here in the land of never and I find myself sitting here with a Starbucks mug from Germany filled to the brim with none other than Illy espresso. I take my coffee with a dash of milk, since I like a little creamy flavor when I drink it. I also love Coffee-Mate, but I don’t use all the time, although I plan to buy some Pumpkin Spice this coming week.

Marcel’s family has stopped in today to say their goodbye’s to me. He’ll see them a little later on today for dinner, but I won’t. We had a nice visit, and it was nice that they wanted to wish me a good trip.

In a little while, I’ll print out all the flight information and tuck it away neatly in my purse. My camera batteries have been charged and are waiting in their bags for Tuesday to arrive. I have a few last minute things to do, but the most has been done. Now all we have to do is wait.

Getting Out

Filed under: Travel — gardener @ 4:54 am

Marcel will be home from work in an hour, which means I’m going to have to get a move on if I plan to go out with the dog, and have a bath along with washing my hair before he gets here. I’m getting out today for the first time in almost a week and I have to say that I’m ready. I’ve had a pretty nasty cold and ear infection and I’ve been staying inside in hopes of getting rid of it before we fly, and it looks like I may make it.

Just three more nights of sleep and then we’re off! I’m SO ready. Please say a prayer that our luggage arrives safely (and on time), plus that all of our flights are on time and without problems.

Rolling Calorie Explosion

This morning I finished packing my carry on and I have to say that if you could see the inside that most people would probably gasp. It’s filled with specialty chocolates and cookies- all things that everyone back home love about the area in which we live. Mom said that we’d need to know what is three best diet pill on the market if we ate all the goodies in that carry on, and she’s right. It’s literally a rolling carry on of about 30,000 calories, which is about 8 1/2 pounds. It’s a good thing it’s not all going to one person.

Craving Silence

Filed under: Food for Thought,Home,Life,Travel — gardener @ 8:37 am

As I sit here and type this entry- I’m actually enjoying the fact that it’s silent in the house.  Marcel and the 4-legged members of the family are sleeping, allowing me a few moments of silent bliss.   I’ve always been one to appreciate a quiet moment, but yet it seems that lately, I’m craving those moments.  I’m not sure if it’s because they aren’t coming often enough, or if that I’ve had so much rumbling around in the grey matter that the silence allows me time with my thoughts to process and work through things that otherwise would be hanging in the blance.

I’m really excited about our trip, but we haven’t even boarded the plane and already our first week is completely booked.  Solid.  From Wednesday morning through Sunday, we have something going on each day.   I’m grateful- but I also know that I need to spend some time alone with my thoughts, preferably while lying in the middle of mom and dad’s field, surrounded by a plethora of cats.  I want to watch the clouds roll by and process this year- something that up until now I haven’t been able to do.

6 day’s and we’ll be on our way.   I’m ready and can’t wait to see and spend time with everyone who wants to spend part of their holidays with us.

Started Packing

This is my new carry on.  I bought it about a month ago so that I can carry extra goodies on the plane.   I figure if they are only going to allow me one ‘free’ piece of checked luggage, but yet will allow me a personal item and a carry on, then I’d just buy the carry on and stuff it to the brim.  After all, it can weigh 40 pounds.

We have another waiting on us at mom and diddy’s.   Samantha used it when she visited because she ran out of room in her luggage.   It works out perfect for us, because we’ll have two coming home and trust me- we’ll need it.

This morning I started packing this bag.  It’s almost full-  Time is ticking-  I’m SO ready for this trip.

One Month

Today marks one month before Marcel and I head home for the holidays and as you can tell by some of my previous posts, I’m ready for the trip.   I love traveling and it’s even more special when I’m going to be spending time with family and friends.   I find myself in a festive mood and have spent most of the day so far today enjoying the weather and whipping up some things in the kitchen.

I do want to sit in the sunshine, so I think I’ll make this short.   The daylight hours are getting shorter each day and it won’t be long before we’re setting our clocks back an hour.  It will give us a little extra daylight time, but not nearly enough.   I’m planning holiday parties and I’m getting excited about one that I’m doing for the young and old alike on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It’s going to be fun planning games for the kids and coming up with prizes for them.

Marcel told me this morning that he’s going to pull out his suitcase and start packing.  He’s so cute.   Even ” I ” haven’t started that- yet.

Have Suitcase- Will Travel

Filed under: Travel — gardener @ 10:15 am

I have so much that I’d love to say right now, but the day is simply too gorgeous for me to sit inside and miss out on the sunshine, cool breezes and fabulous temps. The last couple of days I’ve really been thinking about our upcoming travels and I am more than excited and ready to go. Today I mentioned it to Marcel and he said the departure date couldn’t get here soon enough. He was actually ready to pull out the luggage and start packing. As much as I wish it wasn’t, it is still a little too early for that.

Tomorrow is Marcel’s birthday, but I hope to have time to write a few words tomorrow. If not- I’ll see y’all Monday.

Boys and their Toys

Filed under: Shop til ya Drop,Techy,Travel — gardener @ 2:47 am

Two days ago, while I was laying on the couch, I saw that Marcel was looking online at ipods. I wasn’t really paying attention since I was in and out of sleep but later on that evening he told me that he was thinking it was time to get a new one. He’s has his current iPod for about 4 years now, and even though it doesn’t have the capacity of the newer ones; it still works perfectly. At the time I really didn’t have much to say, because I felt too bad to have any sort of discussion, but I suppose at some point he’s going to want to show me the one he wants. Something tells me it’s going to be one that plays video, but that’s just my guess. I’ll have to wait and see.

30 Days- Day 25

Day 25- A First, in great detail.

I decided to describe a first that I haven’t had yet, but one that I will have later on this year-  two firsts actually.

Later this year, I’ll take my first cruise and I can’t wait.    Not only will the cruise be a first for me, but while on the cruise I have plans to swimwith the dolphins- something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time.    Both will be firsts, and I can’t wait to experience them both.

The fact that I’ll share these firsts with some of my favorite people makes the entire process even sweeter.

Seem to Never Catch Up

I’m trying to play catch up after being extremely busy the past couple of days. I’ve gotten behind on my 30 days, so I have to catch up on both of those, plus Marcel and I are thinking about getting a camcorder for our upcoming vacation and travels that will commence within our vacation, so I’ve been checking out some camcorder reviews in hopes of deciding what will be the best for us. We bought a digital camcorder several (which is more than five now) years ago, but I think it’s time for something smaller and more portable. I think it would be fun to post HD videos to YouTube or even here to share with family and friends. Any suggestions on a great camcorder?
