Didn’t I Just Do that?

Filed under: Life — gardener @ 11:24 am

Last week I noticed that I needed to update my WordPress software, so I took a little while and did that. Now, I’m getting yet another message that there is another version of WordPress available and I need to update, yet again.

I’m starting to get the feeling when it comes to WordPress updates that I’m stuck in something similar to Groundhog Day.

Gratitude List – July 28, 2010

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 12:20 pm

The end of the month is drawing near and I’ve been thinking today about some of the things I am grateful for. There are so many things that I’m grateful for in my life- but I decided that it was time to share a few from today.

My Gratitude List for July 28, 2010.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • Prayers that have been answered in a big way.
  • JJ and Mister M. being extremely good today while I tried to work-  I didn’t hear a peep out of them all day.
  • A delicious cup of coffee with French Vanilla Coffee-Mate.
  • Steel-Cut oats.  My breakfast of choice.
  • Knowing better- and doing better.

Screeching Halt

As you know, I mentioned last week that things here had been virtually non-stop since before my birthday. Well, Friday night that all changed when I bent over and almost fell over the tub from dizziness. From that point on the dizziness got worse until I finally went to the doc earlier this week. I knew it was vertigo since that isn’t the first time I’ve had problems with it, but I admit being extremely frustrated about it because it has hindered me from doing the things that I do on an everyday basis, plus I’ve been exhausted.

The doctor did tell me that if it wasn’t better in a couple of weeks that he wanted to check and make sure that it wasn’t neurological, although I’m fairly certain that isn’t the case.

In the meantime, there has been a whole lot of resting going on and appointments that have been rescheduled to this coming weekend. I’m just ready to get back to my regular work out routine and pray that it happens before Monday.

Monday- I’m doing like Emeril Lagassee and ‘kicking things up a notch’. Stay tuned to hear more about that.

Who Rang That Bell?

This morning I had two friends come over for a coffee visit and I noticed when they arrived that they had knocked on the door. When I opened it, I asked them why they hadn’t used the door chime and they said they had pressed the button, but it didn’t work. They weren’t the first to mention it, and since the chime is so old, I think it’s high time we start looking for a new one. I’d hate to miss an important delivery because the bell wasn’t working.

Crazy

Ever since the weekend before my birthday- life has taken an unexpected ‘insanely’ busy turn and I’ve been constantly on the go. By the time evening rolls around and I have a little time to myself, I am ready to turn off the computer and relax. It doesn’t help that it has been warm and after spending several hours on the computer, the last thing I want to do in warm weather is spend even more time on it.

I have WordPress on my ‘eye’ but even with that I haven’t felt like writing. I have MUCH that I want to say though, so expect to hear more from me as things settle down after this weekend.

I have kicked my workouts up a notch or two and I’m now working out every day again. I have company coming in the morning, so I’m going to have to figure out how to get it in after they leave, but tomorrow is elliptical day and I WILL find the time.

I did take a little time away from the 5k training when it was that time of the month, simply because my cramps were too bad to allow me to do much of anything, especially run, but I’m back on track with that again as well, and it’s coming along great. I did discover this morning that in spite of thinking that heavy winds would make the running easier, it actually seemed to take my breath and I struggled through. Even still- I did what I was supposed to do and didn’t stop, so that’s something.

What’s been happening in YOUR world?

Unexpected Trip

I found out that a friend of mom’s is going to be flying through the area tomorrow and has a six hour layover here, so I’m meeting her at the airport and taking her into the city to have a look around, plus have dinner. I’m looking forward to finally meeting her, since I’ve heard so much about her over the past year or so from mom. I’ve spoken to her on the phone and we’ve emailed a few times, so I’m really looking forward to it.

Plus, the great thing is, that will also mean a impromptu trip to Starbucks and a Mocha Frappuccino Light. YUM!

Days Gone By

Filed under: Life — gardener @ 11:40 am

The days have been flying by and it’s hard to believe that my birthday has come and gone. The weekend was great, filled with lots of fun with Desere, Hein. We also had a World Cup party on Sunday and then Marcel and I went out for my actual birthday on Monday.

Unfortunately, the weather has been really weird and that has meant fitful sleep for me on more than one occasion. I am starting to think that I need a sleep aid just to geta little rest. I am chalking it up to the weather, but if it doesn’t stop soon, I may have some bloodwork done.

Looks LIke

It looks like I’m going to have to block some IP addresses if all this spameroni keeps happening in comments.   Granted, y’all don’t see them, but everytime I log in I have more than I care to deal with to either approve, disapprove or mark as ‘spam’.   Obviously they get sent to the delete file and marked as spam.

Thank goodness that the software catches them and they don’t get through the cracks.   It was quiet for a while, but I guess the spammers got restless and have reared their ugly heads again.

Time to say buh buh.

Gratitude – July 7, 2010

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 1:01 pm

I really have so much to be grateful for. I think I have an amazing family and some of the best friends a girl could ask for. They are all different, and as someone was talking about the other day- each person brings something unique and special to the table of life. It’s a beautiful thing.

My Gratitude List for July 7, 2010.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • Little notes that let me know people are thinking about me, even when they are busy with other things.
  • Phone calls and laughter amongts my dearest of friends.
  • The little things, such as waking up to kitty cat kisses.
  • Finding a restaurant for my birthday dinner.
  • Fresh ripe strawberries.

I (Heart) The Internet

One of my favorite things about the Internet is the fact that if I want to know something, the information is pretty much at my fingertips. At this point, I don’t believe there is anything I haven’t been able to find online, and believe me, my interests vary. I’ve searched for everything from merchant account resellers to restaurants in cities I plan to visit. I’ve even looked for specific plants and bugs. I’ve found it all. It definitely makes our worlds a little smaller doesn’t it?

If we want to visit Australia or New Zealand, it’s nothing more than a few clicks away and we are vitually there within seconds.
