Endless

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately about doing something new. I have been checking out colleges, but I’ve also been doing a little research on possibly applying for a few tech jobs in the area. I haven’t decided exactly which I’m going to go for at this point- but every ounce of my being is telling me that it’s time for change. The possibilities are endless.

Planting

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 4:35 am

I’ve been a little out of pocket the past days, which has meant very little time for me to spend on the computer. In fact- aside from the ‘eye’- I haven’t used the computer much at all. Our days have been jam packed with various activites and it seems as though one day is running into another with the blink of an eye- At least we are getting some things accomplished!

Yesterday I cleaned out the fountain – scrubbed it with some bleach water and then added new water, submerged the pump and started it up. It worked like a charm and the bubbling sound always makes me smile and seems so peaceful. While it was running- I planted most of what will be my herb garden this year (with the exception of the two plants I thougt I bought, but obviously forgot). This year I’ve got- Sage, Basil, Oregeno, Dill, Rosemary, Lemon Balm and Celery leaves. I still need Mint and Chives, but I’ll get them when I go back tomorrow and pick up the rest of the flowers.

There is something about planting a garden and watching it grow that brings joy to my life. Just like last year- I chose all bright colored flowers- simply because brights are my ‘thing’. I’m sure you’ll get to see pictures in the very near future- as the fruits of my labor begin to blossom.

Balance

I was thinking last night while lying in bed that so many people are at new chapters in their lives right now that it’s surprising. It’s all in the ebb and flow of life- but when I really stopped to think about what is happening in my immediate circle of family and friends- I was pretty amazed. There is a balance of trimumphs and struggles, and while some are facing a long road of uncertainties others are basking in bliss and blessings.

While some may look at one chapter ‘bad’ and the other ‘good’ – it is much more than that. While a struggle may not be ideal, it defnitely gives us lessons in life to learn- if we are open to seeing and learning from that. At the end of the day- if you learn a great life lesson to hold close and carry with you in spite of your struggles and find that you’re much stronger than you ever deemed possible- doesn’t that seem pretty great within itself? It does to me.

Focus

Filed under: Food for Thought,Gratitude — gardener @ 10:36 am

I’ve been spending a lot of time lately focusing on the good. There are many stressful things going on around me, but rather than jumping in and worrying about them, I realize that with some things I can’t change them- so I just make myself available if someone needs me- and the rest I let go.

It does’t mean I don’t care- It means I can’t change some things, so what’s the point in worrying about it?

I’m focusing on the good and in turn- it is bringing more good things. We only get one life- so why not make the best out of every second?

Vacation Planning

Filed under: Shop til ya Drop,Travel — gardener @ 9:37 am

Now that I’m pretty sure that we’ll be taking a vacation with mom and dad later this year- I’ve put on my ‘tour guide’ hat and have started making plans. I don’t have anything set in stone as of yet- but I’m scouting locations, one of which could find us in the South of France. We will see where the travels take us. In the meantime- I’ve been playing Words with Friends with my brother and think he’s using a franklin speaking language master to help come up with words. He has literally beat me every single time we’ve played. Maybe I should get one and do some studying while we are on vacation. I simply have to beat him on of these days.
