Throw Me Somthin’ Mister

Filed under: Uncategorized — gardener @ 4:55 am

This is the time of year (or one of them) that I really miss living on the Gulf Coast. It’s Mardi Gras time and that means time for carnival balls, parades and of course king cakes.

King cakes (which are really along the lines of a glorified cinnamon roll) are my favorite Mardi Gras treats and recently a friend suggested I make one.

I was tempted, for about 30 seconds because I knew if I could master those beautiful little cakes that I would find excuses to make and EAT them. Since I’m on a journey to better health and less excess weight, I knew not to cross that bridge, but I do love them.

I also love the crazy unpredictable atmosphere of Mardi Gras even though I hate the excessive drunkeness.

For my Southern friends who are celebrating- have fun and be safe.

Don’t forget to yell- ‘Throw me somethin’ mister!’. You never know. You could end up with a coveted
rubber chicken or if you are in the Big Easy and at the right place- one of the golden coconuts. Just watch your head.

PJ’s Time

For a week now I’ve been dealing with a little case of vertigo. It has been anything but fun to feel my world constantly spinning and it looks like I’ve got a sinus infection to go along with it.

For two days I haven’t been able to do much, and I’ve spent those days in my comfy terry cloth pajamas. They are perfect for lounging around the house and spending the day under the covers, which is exactly what my weekend is going to consist of.

Desere stopped in last night for a visit and I stayed in my pajamas. I’ll put on a fresh pair today but I’m hoping that staying in this weekend will get me on the road to recovery.
