The Good Life-

I’ve been thinking quite a bit lately about in spite of the occasional uphill battle and hiccup that we all tend to have from time to time that life really is good.   There have been people who have said to me that I’ve got the perfect life- and while that is far from the truth, I know that I am blessed and don’t take it for granted.

I’ve also noticed that as I’ve started really being true to myself and in doing what works for me that life has become even sweeter.    I’ve started avoiding those who prefer to focus on the negative or tend to err on the side of drama.   I’m definitely not judging them for their choices in life-  I know it happens and some people prefer the chaos, but I figure life is chaotic enough from time to time on it’s own, I don’t need to have any extra additions that can be avoided, so I do.   We all have to do what works for us and that’s the great thing about life- we have the freedom to choose what works for us and what doesn’t and make concessions accordingly.

My Gratitude List for March 31, 2012.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • Each and every blessing in my life.  From the roof over my head to good health.
  • The beautiful people in my life who are true friends.
  • The ability to finally ‘get’ what letting go of what doesn’t work is all about.
  • Spring weather and new life.
  • An afternoon of being ‘home alone’ and spending time with me.
  • My business and all that I’m learning along this amazing journey- one of which is patience.

Planning

Yesterday I started making a list of the things that I would like to pick up before heading home this year for the holidays. Some items are for gifts, and others are just to have while I’m there- such as the Valrhona chocolate that I plan to use for specialty chocolate bars and in my cupcakes while I’m home. One thing I did see the other day was a print at one of the local museums that I’d love to pick up and give to someone on my gift list. (Not mentioning any names in case they see this.) I definitely don’t want it to get bent or creased, so I’m going to pick up a shipping tube and put it in my carry-on and that way it should stay safe all the way home. Plus I can wrap it with the tube around it and it will stay secure until the print is framed. Even though it’s months away- I’m already getting excited!

Go To a City I’ve Never Been To (101 in 1001)

Number 81 on my DayZero list of 101 things in 1001 days was to Go to a City I’ve Never Been to and I did that a few weeks ago. A good friend invited me to go along with her for a girls day in another city up North that I haven’t been to but once, and it was the perfect opportunity to meet up with a few other wonderful friends. My friend and I traveled to a smaller town to a friends house- where we got in her car and headed to the city. It was my first time in her town and certainly not my last. I didn’t have a chance to explore, but she’s a wonderful sister friend and I’m looking forward to going back, spending more time with her and exploring. It was a fun day with lots of laughter and great shopping.

My ‘list’ says I have 619 days to get everything complete- and even though I haven’t checked them off- there are things that I’ve done- so I need to start sharing more of my list. There are also a few things that are on my list that I’m no longer interested in doing (funny how things change) so I may actually change it this coming week, or I may leave the things on there and just see where it takes me.
