#43- Don’t Log into Facebook for a Week

I’m happy to be able to check this off my list of 101 things in 1001 days, as it was one that I wasn’t sure how easy it would be to pull off.

The idea was to spend one week without logging into Facebook, and I really thought I’d miss it. I also thought that by not logging into Facebook that I’d accomplish a lot more, but that was a quickly dispelled myth.

My favorite people are on Facebook. Some people whine and complain about how they don’t like Facebook (but yet, they’re still on there), but I absolutely love it. Seriously, it’s a plethora of most of my favorite people in one place and I love it- It makes me seem a little closer to them, as opposed to the miles that separate most of us. There are some people that I love that aren’t on Facebook and I have to rely on other methods to keep in touch with them, but that’s ok- I can’t have ‘everything’, now can I?

I will admit- that aside from one private message that I received from a friend that was urgent, and I didn’t have an email address to mail her, I logged in and responded to the message a few days ago and then logged right back out. I didn’t look at my wall, I didn’t read the latest feeds, nor did I respond to the other messages that were not urgent. (In case you were wondering how I knew I had a private message- I do get emails that let me know I have private messages on Facebook.) I decided that since I did log-in to respond to the message (I was there maybe two minutes), I added another hour to my week, which has now officially come and gone.

Now- time to go see what everyone has been up to.
