Getting Back to Gratitude

Filed under: Gratitude — gardener @ 2:51 am

I haven’t done a gratitude list in so long, that I really thought that it was about time I started doing them again. It isn’t that I am not grateful for so many things in my life, because I am, but the truth is, I’ve not felt very grateful lately, and that’s the exact moment that I should be pausing and thinking about what I should be grateful for.

No matter what life may toss our way, or no matter how difficult we may think we have it- there is always something to be grateful for.

My Gratitude List for December 22, 2009.

Today I’m Grateful For:

  • Marcel, for going out with JJ this morning so that I can get a few things done around the house before he goes to work.
  • The beautiful snow, that brings joy to my heart even though I know it’s a nightmare for so many.
  • The sound that it makes when you walk across freshly fallen snow.
  • The TRUE reason for the season,  Christ.
  • The little angels in this world who lift me up and bring a smile to my face when I need it most.

Sniffling, Sneezing.

In addition to all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, I’ve been feeling a little under the weather. It hasn’t been anything major, like the ‘oink’ flu, but more problems with sinuses and the changes that keep happening in the weather. I’ve really wanted a day where I didn’t have to leave the house, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen, not with Marcel working and JJ needing to go out from time to time.

What I have noticed is that my allergies and sinuses are on this sort of rampage, and I’m wondering if allergy bedding may not be the answer to my problems. I figure it’s worth a try, after all, it can’t hurt and anything that can possibly help me stop sneezing and sniffling is worth its weight in gold.

Christmas Change

I always love receiving cards from people this time of the year. I love Christmas, even though this year I’ve been running really far behind, but I know I’m not the only one and it’s ceased to bother me. It is what it is, and I plan to enjoy the Christmas season as much as I can. The highlight so far is the cards that I’ve received, often with letters from friends talking about what has been going on in their lives and what changes are taking place. One friend is expecting a baby, and another has been looking for jobs in Philadelphia since they can’t find what they were hoping for in their local cities. It seems that everywhere I look, change is occuring. I feel it within myself as well, only at this point, I am not sure of what that change will be, but it’s coming.

Look out 2010.

Baking Cookies

Filed under: Holidays — gardener @ 2:36 am

That’s what I’m doing this morning- well as soon as I finish writing this. Today is Marcel’s last day of work before Christmas, and he wanted me to bake some cookies that he could take and share with his colleagues. I planned to do it last night, but ran out of time, but I did get the dough mixed up, so now all I have to do is scoop and bake.

I hope they turn out ok.
