Wander Lust

I’m sitting here watching JJ attempt to bury his bone inside his crate and I can’t help but laugh. He’s so funny and animated and I honestly think he has the potential to be the best dog that I have ever owned, running a close second to our old family dog, Cocoa- who was brilliant.

Marcel and I have been talking recently about doing some traveling. Since this is the year for our ‘big’ vacation later in the year, we don’t want to make it anything major, but we do want to get away for a weekend, or even a week to relax and not have to think about the responsibilities of everyday life. We’ve been going back and forth as to whether we’ll take JJ with us, or if we’ll let his mom babysit. I guess it will depend on the type of weekend get away we take. Part of me thinks it would be fun to take him somewhere new to experience, and then part of me just wants the quiet time without having to worry about ANY responsibilities, including that of taking a dog out. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out, and where we end up going.

It doesn’t really matter to me where it is, as long as it’s somewhere.

Ode to Oats

I know I mentioned it in my gratitude list yesterday, but have I mentioned how happy I am that I am finally in full supply of steel-cut oats again? Marcel was out with JJ yesterday and when he came in, I noticed he had something behind his back, and it was the package that mom and diddy had sent. I literally screamed for joy. I’d been eating yogurt for the past month or so, but there is nothing better for breakfast than my beloved steel-cut oats. It’s better than any quick trim burn and cleanse, not to mention it’s heart healthy and WARM, which is a great thing considering the sub-zero temps that we’ve been having.

It’s funny how the little things make all the difference isn’t it?

Ahhh Weekend, How I Love You

I am so happy that the weekend is here. It was a hectic week and I’m happy to have a weekend filled with down time that I can spend doing whatever I want. I actually have a few things that I want to get done around here, and I’m feeling very tired this morning. Of course, it’s my fault since I stayed up late talking to Samantha, and then watched the first episode of this seasons Survivor. I think I fell asleep not long after that and woke up with an infomercial on about how to prevent hair loss. I think that was somewhere around 4:30, so I knew it was time to stumble to bed and get some real sleep and not just doze on and off on the sofa. Woke up again at 6 when Marcel came home, and went back to sleep without much effort. I’m excited to see what the weekend brings.
